Sharp CD-DK891N

$170.00 Released September, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Very fully-featured for the price--iPod dock, cassette players, 5-disc CD changer. Straightforward, user-friendly interface. Looks very sleek and modern.

The Cons:Doesn't charge iPods while on standby mode. Power cord is pretty short.

Sharp's CD-DK891N is a mid-range bookshelf audio system. It boasts 250W of total output power and a solid feature set. The included iPod docking slot plays stored MP3s and WMAs, and charges the iPod, but only while the system is turned on.

There is no USB input, so the system does not work with other MP3 players. It features a dual cassette deck, five-disc changer, and digital AM/FM tuner with 40 presets. Sound quality is good, with an X-BASS setting for a more powerful lower range. Like most shelf systems, it supports MP3, WMA, CD-R, and CD-RW audio discs.
