What’s unusual about the MCD900 and its peer is that each speaker hosts a tweeter that floats on top of it—unlike most models, where the tweeter is embedded within. According to Philips, the free-floating tweeter “radiates [sound] in all directions to give a deeper, wider, sound impression.” As the weaker model, the MCD900 supports 100W of RMS power, and it can play songs directly from a USB hard drive.
