JVC NX-PS1

$250.00 Released October, 2006

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Modern, compact cube design is functional and aesthetically pleasing. Solid build quality can handle infrequent bumps or drops. Fantastic bass quality for such a small subwoofer.

The Cons:High frequency quality is a bit lacking compared to lows and mids resulting in treble getting drowned out in some situations. Doesn't support older generation iPods. USB audio playback is limited to 16bit 48000 Hz.

The JVC NX-PS1 is a multi-piece speaker system that is made for the iPod.  It has a connection to control and charge the iPod and a little remote control to make it even easier.  It offers a USB connection for other music players as well as for flash devices (store music on it) and a back USB audio input for a direct computer connection.

Where to Buy

For older devices like portable CD players it has a analog, two-channel input.  Since it has seperated pieces it allows for more flexibility when positioning the speakers.  This has the down side of the chance of pieces getting lost, damaged, or walking off during a large party.  For for a family without small children or roudy teenagers and with iPods, this speaker system promises to have decent, customizable sound quality.
